They cant make anyone change them back, they are not the property of the landlord and it would be an unfair contract termDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Except not all LL's prefer a PPM. Some LL's actually prefer a credit meter as it can make the property more desirable to their target rental market.
I guess it depends on who they are targeting their rentals at.
(Also landlords are not responsible for any debts their tenants may run up anyway)
Likewise, where the tenant changes supplier during the course of their tenancy, the OFT believes it would be a fair term for the LL to ask that the tenant returns the supply to the original supplier at the end of that tenancy.

I think it doesn’t matter what the tenancy agreement said, if it is illegal, then landlord won’t have the right to do so.

I know tenants have the right choose gas n electricity supplier. However, do they have the right to choose to use pre pay meter or non pre pay meter, ie do they have the right to change? The EU has already stopped this for multi occupancy dwellings in that a tenant can choose their own supplier, I think they would find it very hard to prove they can enforce this.
Given a landlord can choose to switch to a more expensive supplier for kickbacks knowing the pricey kwh won't impact them, would be an unfair contract term.
Its probably best to get a legal opinion to be sure as landlords can be dodgy.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
