Paying for holiday

Hi there,

I am paying £2,300 for a holiday tomorrow, is it okay to pay on my debit card? The company are ATOL protected.

    Are they abta registered, have you checked their atol number is genuine.

    That's a lot of money. Why not have a day by the seaside and make the rest of your budget a charitable donation? You know what they say about treasure in heaven: no need to worry about FCS protection there.
  • If you wait until Monday to book, you should get a new ATOL Certificate if the holiday is by air, this will be a guarantee that your money is protected even if the worst should happen. ABTA provides no financial protection for air holidays at all.

    Wouldnt you rather put it on a credit card, and earn some kind of points/airmiles/cash back than nothing on a debit card?

    Pay using a credit card for a small amount ( and minimise credit card surcharges) and the balance on your debit card should you wish.

    Even though you are using your credit card for only part of the total cost you still get full credit card protection for the full £2300.
