Fraudulent whiplash claim

A few months ago the driver of a truck and his 2 passengers made a fraudulent whiplash claim against me by claiming that I ran into the back of their truck when, in fact, the truck actually reversed at speed into the front of my car. I had to pay the excess. I have now received the excess back but there is no explanation so I assume that their claims have been found to be [rightfully] fraudulent.
Can anyone tell me what action, if any, the other driver's insurance company will take against him, being as he has lied? A colleague has told me that the driver's current insurer will refuse to continue to insure him as he has been found to have broken the law. Will any kind of action be taken against him?

Forget wondering about the third party, but get your insurer to confirm (in writing, and retain it) that this is now a non fault claim as far as you are concerned, and that is how it has now been recorded on the database.0

Why not blow the whistle on them here?

Also ask you insurer if they are taking any action. Something like this would be quite satisfying http://www.insurancedaily.co.uk/2011/10/06/lv-wins-650000-fraud-case/Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
Thanks for your advice folks. I'll get onto the insurance re: confirmation.
Cheers!:T0
