Replacement laptop hard drive?

Working in repairs- I'd probably steer away from the Fujitsu drives - I replace more of them and Toshiba (and those horrible IBM/Hitachi's) more than any other drive
What seems to be more solid is Western Digital and Seagate currently followed by Samsung
Perhaps you can keep up with the thread before posting, so as not to confuse.

Just an update in case anyone with similar problems comes across this.
The existing hard disks were both Hitachi Travelstars but I picked a Fujitsu MHV2060AH hoping it would just plug in and work. No chance!
Got the ERROR 0200 message. Luckily I have another working T43 so I just swapped the hard drives & flashed the BIOS using the unofficial modified BIOS (installed the software on my desktop & ran it, simple as)
Then it was just a case of re-installing Windows, a few hours to install all the updates. I was a bit too keen with this. Went to the MS update site & installed an update for the display adapter which wasn't supported by XP. I ended up with a screen resolution of something like 320x240. Easy enough to roll back from the Device manager menu .
A few other bits of software installed & the laptop's now ready for return to my niece.
If you've got the patience & can follow instructions then it's fairly straightforward, even for a wannabe non techie like me.
There's still the question to answer of how one of the arrow keys came off & how the hard drive access cover developed a crack in it! I think I might borrow the nieces mobile, wrap a brick around it then drop it. Perhaps then the message may sink in. (I fixed something for her once after it was knocked off the arm of the settee. I did explain that these machines are called lap top computers, not arm chair top computers, but the message doesn't seem to have sunk in.0
