In the case of Santander they place more emphasis on the credits into the account and on the monthly average balance. In fact the monthly average balance is incuded on the paper statement.
It's not true that benefits are not regarded as income depending on the benefit. For example Child Benefit is not regarded as income but Disability Benefit is. But it's all on hold while awaiting the new Universal Credit.0 -
I'm also a homemaker, although recently retired (but not getting a state pension) and opened a Reward Account with Halifax. Just done an online application and was accepted.
I don't even have my work pension paid into the account. I just cycle a £1K from our joint current account via another account (which I opened a little while ago for holidays abroad). Perhaps you could do something similar.
