Switching provider - estimating usage

Hey folks,

got a quick question about switching provider as I want to take advantage of the soon to be disappearing fixed deals!

I moved into a house with my OH on 1st July, and we've been paying £50/month for gas AND electricity so far. However I'm aware that's only for summer months up until now. The house is fairly large for the two of us (2 bedrooms and a box room). Scottish Power says that for 2 people in a 2 bed house the estimated bill would be £116/month, but that this is still a saving of ~£75 over the year from the estimated bill for Eon. I tried to calculate our actual usage from meter readings but it came out extremely low and I'm not sure I'm doing it right!

I can't work out if this is still a good deal! Help!
Savings target: £25000/£25000

Base your comp site research on 16500kWh pa for gas and 3300kWh for electricity, assuming that you have gas CH and DHW. The SP fix is about to be pulled.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

You are possibly using your actual gas readings, ie the units used.
You must convert those to kwh, the method of doing this depends on the type of meter you have.

Let us know if that was the problem.

Use macman's figures, (16,000 Kwh Gas & 3,300 Kwh Elec), on the Switch sites, but be aware that your present Direct Debit of £50 a month for both is way too low
