Password protect a folder?

I have a folder in "My Documents" which I would like to keep private, ie make so that no-one but me can open it.... is there any way to do this, or to password protect it?

Do you mean while logged in as someone else, they cannot access your private folder ??

Yes, this is how:

Right Click folder.
select Properties
select Sharing
select "Make this folder private" & OK

No, we only have 1 log-in on my computer, that a few people use.

Is it possible to rename this private folder, rather than it being called "my private folder"??

dont think so... i've just tried to rename mine .. but maybe when you save it you could try renaming it whereas i just left mine as it was

Have a look at this thread, lots of suggestions there. A simple and obvious way is to use WinRAR and impose a password on the archive, though there are suggestions elsewhere that this measure is prone to relatively easy cracking.

Why not just put the folder you want to keep private onto a USB drive. That way, you can access it on any computer anywhere and there is no chance that anyone else can access the files on it, unless you forget to unplug it.

Nothing like TrueCrypt. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better, free one.
