How to manage twitter?

I use twitter for work and have had my first dealings with a number of customers from it. I would say its invaluable at present. I tend to retweet things I find interesting and join conversations. Facebook also works well and LinkedIn.
I think those that choose to ignore it could be missing out. I also use it for a charity I'm involved in and again we've made some great connections from twitter and facebook that would have been allot more difficult to get via traditional means. The futures bright the future is Ginger0 -

As far as I can see, twitter is fully of people who think that what they are thinking is so important that the rest of the world needs to know it as well and as for celebrities having a slanging match on there / making confessions / being all lovey dovey (or crying) over each other - honestly give me strength,
And facebook - don't get me started on that as that's becoming nothing more than a yellow pages!
The key difference between Twitter and Facebook is that with Facebook, you're sending messages to a closed group of people known to you - friends and members of groups.
But with Twitter, using #hashtags, you can send message to everyone on the world based on subjects - like #bbcqt, #readingfc, or whatever. So the message isn't limited to a known group of people - it's available for anyone interested in that subject.0 -
I have a facebook and twitter for my small business and I get about 99% of my business from them. I update it every day and upload pictures every time I do a job. It's great and it's free!0

or..those ebay "sellers" selling books on how to make money on ebay.. and those 'marketing experts" running blogs on seo/marketing etc (full or affiliate links of course).
(sorry the digression, very interesting thread though)0
