Unwanted chrome banner - help please

I was looking at the Guardian online just now.
After a few minutes, the page peeled down then renewed, but with a 10cm deep banner across the top for google chrome.
No matter what I do, reopening in new tabs, shut down/re-start, it won't go away.
For under a second it's normal/okay, then along comes this active banner, with a spinning google screen on the right.
I don't want it - help please!

Have you downloaded Google Tool Bar and not clicked the box not to get Goggle Chrome? if this is the case then uninstall and reinstall checking the box to not download GC.
If not is it a pop up, you may need to look at what pop ups you allow.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Hello Meadows - thankyou.
No. I've done nothing google-ish at all[although I see they are 14 today - teenage awkward squad tantrum?]
I did re-new all my yahoo ms ad choice opt-outs half an hour ago, as they'd been creeping back.
Just now looked under the wrench which says 'customise and control google chrome', where I see it says g.c. is my default browser.
What do I do now please?
Where will I find the pop-ups info?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Go back into where it says GC is your default browser and look for what you had before, select that as default browser (if you have a choice).
Also in tools, Internet options (you may need to go to the old browser page and copy/paste the address into he box for default browser).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
