Cancelling car insurance

I had car insurance with online company Ecar , I went through quidco and paid in full approx £366 getting £45 cashback (which tracked and was paid) , I eventually managed to cancel it as i sold the car waiting a long time on a 0845 number . How much will i get back after under 3 months of 12 months annual insurance , by my calculations i've used under a quarter of it ?

If you do it online, it will tell you the refund 'if any' before cancellation goes through

From memory it is pro-rata and a £75 cancellation fee

Phew, I would argue about the £75 as an unfair condition. Seems an awful lot of money to be honest.

How do you think they fund the £45 cashback, £60 to the aggregator etc?

Pro rata, and up to £50 fee, but if they realise they may try to claw back the cashback.

I've done the same thing in the last month, cancelled my policy in September and have heard absolutely nothing. No confirmation of my NCD, no refund nothing. and I paid £69 for the priveldge of calling to cancel.
