Cash withdrawal question

Hello
My debit card has a daily withdrawal limit of £250.00 (my account's with RBS, if that makes any odds). I need to draw out more than that to pay the deposit on my new flat. Am I right in thinking that I can do this by going into any RBS branch, with ID (e.g. photocard driving licence) and requesting it over the counter?
Thanks!

I would make doubly sure youre not going to have a wasted journey and try to take photo ID, passport, photo driving licence.
Sorry, if this sounds silly, but could you not pay it with your card or CC.
If not and you have to pay cash, be sure to get a dated receipt.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Yes, I'm thinking passport and photocard driving licence. I'm pretty sure the withdrawal limit on my card only applies to ATMs and not to my bank account (i.e. I can take out more than that over the counter in a branch) - but I'm a worrier! I just want to be sure I'll be able to pay the deposit and get the keys to the flat with no problems.
It's a private letting - so no estate agent involved, and the landlady doesn't have a means of taking payment by bank card. She also wants the first payment in cleared funds (which seems to be standard procedure among landlords) so cash is the easiest way in this instance.Sorry, if this sounds silly, but could you not pay it with your card or CC.

I'll definitely get a dated receipt for the cash! Thanks.

RBS use chip and pin machines so there is no real need for ID, But i would take it anyway incase you get an awkward powerhead.
Also what you withdraw in the branch doesn't effect your ATM daily limit.0 -

Do you still get cover under the Deposit Protection Scheme?0 -
Yes, the landlady explicitly mentioned this - and I also have it in writing that this is the case.Do you still get cover under the Deposit Protection Scheme?
EDIT: All done and dusted now - deposit paid and keys obtained - yay! Thanks for your help, folks
