A case that has one long zip on it can be opened with a ballpoint pen, and then closed without any sign of it being opened.:eek:0

Scary that despite all the near hysteria surrounding security at airports, justified of course, that someone can open a case, rummage through it, take whatever they want from it undetected. What's to stop them putting something in.0

I once saw this being done on tv. Very simple. We have a case that has a combination lock but is fixed on the side of the case, so the zippers can't be opened with a pen on that one. However, I don't lock my luggage - I didn't think you were allowed to. I'm sure that if they want to inspect it they can damage the stuff and force their way in anyway, so I wouldn't want to risk them ruining my case. I'm not totally sure, maybe someone can clarify that.
Pretty annoying to think airport staff could be rummaging and walking out of work with ciggies etc and no questions asked!!!0 -
Lesley, I think it's just travel to and from the US where you are not allowed to lock your case or the lock has to be TSA approved so that they can open it.0
