I have the above printer installed and I am given the options to, Update driver or auto update driver and firmware every two weeks or never.what should I set these as because I'm sure I ready somewhere that if you had it to update automatically epson can stop the printer from using compatable cartridges, and is it better to keep switching this printer on and off or let it power down to standby. Thanks

Have never needed to update a driver, so would skip that, and as you say, firmware updates can stop compatibles being recognised.
As to switching it off, number five here

If you use compatibles, get ones with the highest amount of ink as the printer uses ink from all cartridges when one is changed.0 -
