Not receiving PayPal payment

Can anyone help me?
I have just sold 2 tickets on eBay and the buyer has tried to make the payment but on his end it says that the payment has not been claimed and on my end it doesn't say anything about the transaction.

What could be going wrong? I think this is my first time selling on eBay if that makes a difference, but I have bought many times.

Secondly, I am a bit worried about the scams that I have heard of. Is there any way I can protect myself from the buyer claiming that the tickets were invalid and reclaiming the money, causing me to lose out? I really don't think he would do this, but the tickets are really valuable, and some of the stories I have read do make me wary of scams.

Thanks :)

Someone will come along with more knowledge than me, but sounds fishy. Whatever you do, do not send until you get payment
  • Check your email in your paypal account, sounds if that is the problem. I had a similar problem when I was buying something from a new seller, once she amended her email address in Paypal the payment went through ok.

Thanks for the replies. It's not my email address. :s
  • go to your listing on ebay, click relist(you dont need to actually relist the item) and scroll down and check that the email address you have typed in the paypal section is correct.
It sounds like you may have made a typo so the payment wont actually come to your address, get the buyer to recall their payment then ask for their email and send a payment request for goods through paypal.

  • Check the email address on the ebay listing, I suspect a typo here. Or get teh buyer to confirm the email address the paypal payment went to, I suspect this is where the issue will be. Whilst your paypal is setup correctly the ebay listing won't be so they've paid an invalid email address if you follow.

I've seen it before what I ended up doing was creating the email address the buyer had paid via paypal, adding it to my paypal account and claiming the money that way. It is also possible for the buyer to cancel and pay the correct paypal email address. Be warned, they may suspect fraud / scam as well if you suggest this, hence why I created the account and claimed the payment that way.
  • Thank you all for your replies. I think I have received payment now! :) I think the problem might have been that I hadn't verified my email address.
