Prices vary hugely around Norfolk! I'm not too far from there and where I am prices have risen not dropped over the last couple of years, albeit by a small amount. I don't think the price is out my much, but it may be worth a cheeky offer :)
  • A house is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, regardless of where it is or how many bells and whistles it has. If you're not prepared to pay that much for it, then don't. BUT it might be worth your while making a cheeky offer for the amount you are prepared to pay for it. You never know.

  • Wow if that house were that price near me in rural Yorkshire I would snap their hand off ;)
  • Not a fan of new houses at all myself, but if I were and was looking in that area/that property size etc I would think that was a pretty fair price for a reasonably attractive house - until I saw the price paid in 2008. Unless they have done significant work to add value and/or prices have risen in that location I wouldn't want to pay that much more than £180k. Speaking from experience as someone who bought in 2007, did a major (and very tasteful ;)) overhaul but still lost big-time when we sold last year it does stick in my throat a bit when I see people trying to cash in like that - bitter, me? Never :o

Still worth making a cheeky offer if you love it though......

I would say it is largely irrelevant what they paid for it - it may have been priced low for any number of reasons. It would be far more important to me that I secure the house for not too far from current market sold prices.
  • No the asking price is not fair! We just paid £50k more than that for a 2 bed terrace in our part of the world! Where is the fairness in that?

As for the increase since 2008, chances are it was bought as a project and renovated/extended. This can be expensive work and they would also expect to see a return on that investment.

That asking price seems more than reasonable to me, but then I would love to live somewhere like that at that price, if only commuting was possible!

Wow, that is one nice house, up here in north Yorkshire you wouldnt get any change out of £300k for that.

    Bloody long commute though :rotfl:
  • According to property Bee this was reduced by £10k yesterday...
