Scottish power - suprise in post

Hi.

Couldn't believe it when I opened post this morning as there was a cheque for £25 from Scottish Power saying it was to thank me for switching over to them for my prepayment electric and to reward me for the first 6 months with them...:j

What a nice suprise, was originally with Swalec for years but swapped over when they got expensive and never got anything off them....

Nice to have something good from an electric company in these hard times.... Thanks Scottish Power.. made my day.:T

This is just down right confusing.

If it was a promotional deal, where you get £25 cashback after 6 months, then fair enough.

If they charged you £25 extra, so they can give it back, it's just silly.

    To Scottish Power,

Why don't you try it this way:

    Loyalty Bonus
    ____________

After a complete year, and if no switching, credit a percentage of bills paid over that year to the account. Effectively it's NPower's annual discount, credited at the end of one year price plan.

    Christmas
    ________

For old customers, e.g. 65+, 75+. Credit their account with say £25 for winter fuel, and send them a Christmas card saying so.
    DON'T send a cheque, because:

    1. They have to go out to pay it in.
    2. Some banks charge £5 to pay anything in, if you are not their customer.
    3. Posting the cheque costs money.
    4. If they lost the cheque in the post it's more hassle.
    5. Recorded delivery costs more money.

By the way, I will be with Scottish Power from October, so spruce up, and get ship shape for inspection.
  • nope, no promotional deal or cashback deal.. they were the cheapest around for prepayment when I looked to change so was happy with them.
