Amazon Credit Card

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me?
After returning from holiday I discovered that I had missed a payment for my credit card, paid it (3 days late c/w £12 late payment fee).
I had a balance of £200 to pay (£212 with late payment) which I paid £62 as I had a 0% promotional offer.
I phoned Customer Services to throw myself on their mercy to see if they would re-instate the 0% promotion - but no.
My question is, now that I have paid off the full balance (trailing interest next month), is it worth closing this card and trying for the Virgin cc in 6 months time, or will Amazon still send me good promotional offers after a few months of 'good behaviour'.
TIA

"Amazon" and "Virgin" are effectively the same - both underwritten by MBNA - so "Virgin" will already be aware of the late payment to "Amazon" without having to go to the CRA.0 -
The late payment on your credit file will become less relevant as successive on time payments are recorded but it could take a year so don't do any more late payments.
I agree that if you intend to close the card and apply for a different one move fast before the late payment gets on your credit report. But as previously advised probably not one that's issued by MBNA.0 -
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
I got the HSBC credit card with 0% on balance transfers for 23 months. I do use Amazon a lot so will keep the other card for that only.:)As my Mum always said "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"0
