sunglasses with scratches

I got a pair of sunglasses on ebay that were described with "slight" scratches, and the seller said literally "I've been told they can be repaired at any opticians".

Turns out the scratches are important (makes very uncomfortable to wear them, as you can see them clearly), and cannot be repaired.

Can this be considered item not as described? The seller said the description was accurate...

Comments

  • I would say that's not as described. Seller says they can be repaired and they can't.

Have you had confirmation from an optician that they cannot be repaired or is this just your opinion?
  • Open an Not as Described dispute, return them by a trackable method & the seller will have to refund you.
  • I've had confirmation from an optician. Seller said the description was accurate as he said "I've been told.." not "They can be repaired".. but I think this is a bit sneaky?
  • definitely go for a dispute, the cheeky sod.

  • I think even that is implied that seller got professional advice on it. Why else would someone buy scratched glasses that can't be repaired (unless they were sold specifically for the the frames only - in which case the listing should reflect that).

Open your case, let ebay decide this one. :)
