Hello all! I am popping in to declare NSD number 3 Yay! I did have a little spend at a charity dance event I was at all day today but as I had set aside money from my bag of coins (as it was for charity after all) for the week then I'm not counting it! I also have £3 left in the bag that I haven't spent, WIIIN! I saved money on train fares this week too so I have a little left to rollover. Here's to next week, I'd better get some more change ready.... :rotfl:

OK... the soggy paste brush I can understand..... but a crowbar :eek:. Is this the latest punishment for using the "f" word?:rotfl::p:pSO...
I'm torn between getting her the latest iPad as I know it won't be replaced any time soon (if ever) so want her to have the 'best' if she's going to have one, or wondering whether to get her the iPad 2 which is obviously a bit cheaper and would 'do' for her.
I do have some vouchers and discounts to use, so won't be looking to pay full price, and it will be the basic 16GB wireless model.
I guess part of me thinks she always tried to give me the best growing up, and I'm somehow not if I get the iPad 2, but the other part of me says 'the 2 will do everything she needs, the 3 is just extra money that isn't necessary'
Sorry for the waffle, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?
I think your mum would be chuffed to bits with the iPad 2 kerri, after all she doesn't sound like a techo-geek who wants the latest of everything.. and you're giving her the best by having the close relationship you have with her, I think that's what every mother would want.
Hope that helps xThe_Dragon wrote: »I spent a lot of the weekend laid up in screaming agony

Hey all, I need a little of your level headed advise....it's my DM b'day next month and I was already thinking of dragging her into the 21st century and getting her an iPad as a joint b'day / xmas gift. Whilst we were away the other week she had a go one one and is now talking about getting one (she won't go out and get one without me so I can easily delay her buying one) BUT...
1) we've bought her 'expensive' gifts in the past like a camera that never got used (now replaced) and a stereo that I have recently set up but she's already forgotten how to use Not wanting to sound dramatic or OTT, but keep a watch on the 'forgetting' won't you  It's probably nothing more than being a bit of a tecno-phobe & not wanting to push the wrong button, like me now with all the gizmoes The Offspring have
SO...
I'm torn between getting her the latest iPad as I know it won't be replaced any time soon (if ever) so want her to have the 'best' if she's going to have one, or wondering whether to get her the iPad 2 which is obviously a bit cheaper and would 'do' for her. It's not so much a case of making do, as choosing the option that is best for Mum. If she's not ever going to use the automatic tea stirrer with adjustable shoe horn, why get that model.
I do have some vouchers and discounts to use, so won't be looking to pay full price, and it will be the basic 16GB wireless model. Doesn't matter; it's given with a lot of Thought & even more Love x
I guess part of me thinks she always tried to give me the best growing up, and I'm somehow not if I get the iPad 2, but the other part of me says 'the 2 will do everything she needs, the 3 is just extra money that isn't necessary' Think you've answered your own question Petal...I haven't a clue what you're talking about, but just KNOW it will be the right decision for both you & your Mam.
Sorry for the waffle, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?
I do so hope that folk--particularly on here--know that I do not set out to cause offence. I re-read my post to BDINI & suddenly thought it could come across as a bit..bolshy..That wasn't the look I was going for, so apologies if I've stuffed up again. Where's a wordsmith version of gok when you need wan
Back to nsd nabbing & I can report No 5 is in the compound & ready for fatigues

kerri - you know your mother and what you will think about what you get her, if the gift is not used then that is her call, i think we would all dearly love for all of our gifts to be used and loved unfortunately just not so, but this does not diminish the thanks for it, due to thought and kindness on our behalf.
spendy spendy weekend:mad:
this month is not going well, *looks at her new purchases guiltily*
I am really struggling this month and I have a holiday to fund (which i would forgo under any circumstances but psychologically i need it)
now I am so near clearing my massive debt I am just finding the will to scrimp and save that much harder. then i get a bit depressed that I haven't included my car on that debt as I used my savings to buy it.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH! MONDAYS! THEY SUCK! :rotfl:IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?
Debt = [STRIKE]21,003.22[/STRIKE] 0! :j/Car [STRIKE]4500[/STRIKE] 2875
Savings 12k in 2013: NUMBER 093 = 1100.31/4000
Wedding fund 1045/3500 LOL!
