Does Anyone Know of Anything That Actually Works on Dark Under Eye Circles???

Options
I suffer terribly from dark under eye circles and it's quite depressing. I used to get told I didn't look my age but recently I feel like I look twice it because of my eyes.

I've tried loads of different under eye concealers but even my trusty YSL Radiant Touch doesn't do the job any more.

I often suffer from broken sleep due to LO's so I know this won't help. I drink lots of water (most of the time) and my diet is usually ok although I have IBS.

Can anyone think of any remedies because I hate looking this way.

Thanks,

YSL doesn't work for me either! I usually use benefits boing (£15) or tescos Barbara daley square concealer (£3), both are fab. However I got benefits 'it stick' free with glamour magazine and it's amazing, it's a pencil concealer which you literally draw on yourself with. Working really well for me.

I've just started using Bobbi Brown corrector-it's amazing. Great coverage, but feels light and doesn't crease or go crepey.
On their website you can talk to a make up artist who will recommend a shade. If it's wrong, you can send it back as well.
The shades are either pink for cool toned skin, or peach for warm.If you check the veins on your wrist, blue is cool and green is warm. They also recommend going one shade lighter than your skintone which really helps.

I use Benefit's Lemon Aid. It's fab! I don't pay full price though, when i want Benefit stuff i get it off ebay at a fraction of the cost.

I use it on my eye lids and underneath. Works a treat :)

The Corrective Concealer - Erase & Conceal the pink one gets rid of really dark circles and the yellow one evens out on the lids (better than lemon aid in my opinion), green for redness.

I have no idea what the blue one does lol
  • I get really puffy eyes with redness underneath so I empathise completely. To disguise them I use Lacura concealer pen from Aldi £3.99ish. But the only thing that works to keep the puffiness away is water. It took me 43 years to notice that water works! I know you said you 'drink lots of water (most of the time)' - you really need to keep the water intake up every day. I try and drink 1.5 litres a day - if I drop below this, I look terrible the next day. I can't believe the difference it makes!
  • Have you tried BB cream?
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • Thanks ever so much for the replies. I'm even more confused now though!! I might try the benefit boing although reviews say it can look caked?? Does anybody have any experience of that?

The bobbi brown one looks good too, as does the Babara Daly.

Off to check out the lemon aid one now!

    Thanks again.

    What is BB cream?
  • I have this problem and dd has it even worse than me, all make up seems to either crepe or cake on me and on dd (shes 17) it just disappears if you want to get rid of them you could think about filler if you google it using images you can see some excellent results, other than that a huge water intake will certainly help and having a foundation consultation, I like MAC, Bobbi Brown is also supposed to be very good, I changed my colour and formulation with really quite shocking (in a good way) results, what suited you previously might not be working for you now.

Dark circles are often hereditary unfortunately! Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge has an excellent video here:

YSL Touche Eclat is a highlighter, not a concealer. You could use it on top of concealer for a brightening effect.

My cousin has hereditary dark circles and swears by Bobbi Brown's corrector. Definitely try things out at counters and leave it for a day to see how it wears before you consider buying.
