hi, i have 2 existing credit cards and want to make a fairly major purchace. Rather than go through the application process of a new credit card would my existing card provider give me a 0% purchase deal on my existing card?

It's unusual, in my experience. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Occasionally. Worth a quick phone call to find out.
Virgin used to quite a bit but I think I've only had transfer offers from them for the last year.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Same, but that's not what was asked.
Personally I've never had a repeat 0% purchase offer, only balance transfers. I suppose this is because they at least get a BT fee from that, whereas if they kept giving out new 0% purchase deals they wouldnt get anything at all.0 -

Wouldn't be likely.
You've already got their credit card. They'll assume you'll spend on it.
With a balance transfer, it's a rival company who has got your business. It's worth them losing a little on giving you a 0% deal to transfer your business to them away from the competitor.0 -
Thanks for your replies on this. It's just as I and you suspected, no can do but hey in true money saving style at least I tried!
Just thinking how to get what I need / want the cheapest way possible.0 -
