Seat cars - reliable?

I have got at a Seat Leon and am now looking at the Seat Ibiza FR version. I have test driven a lot of other small cars, the Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris and Honda Jazz and am having trouble deciding! I like the style of the Ibiza. I have read many review and comments. You can go on forever reading them and researching! I think its probably a bit of pot luck whatever car you go for.0

I think I'll book a test drive with one.... I want a diesel engine as a petrol is costing me too much at the moment... But I don't want the car to cost too much
My dream car is a Seat Cupra they are b-e-a-utiful... but a white Seat Ibiza is equally beautiful and well priced... 2012-2013 Deposit target £2663.05/ £3876.74 :j

got an 11 plate ibiza 1.4 petrol, we used to do a round trip journey of 500 miles over a weekend, very comfortable for a small car, easy to drive, approx 40mpg so couldn't grumble and the dealer seems fairly helpful0

a diesel will not suit your mileage. google DPF, EGR problems when doing low miles.I've had my car since 2009 and done 35,000 miles...
stick to petrol it will work out cheaper.
gone are the days when people bought a diesel because it went further for the money you ut in it.
now you have modern tecnology that has certainly put the brakes on that method.0 -
The problem is my petrol at the moment is costing me over £200 a month in petrol.... It eats a full tank of fuel so quickly when I'm driving energy efficiently...2012-2013 Deposit target £2663.05/ £3876.74 :j

What is it... I may be able to advise.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
In that case you're unlikely to save anything turning to diesel over an equivalent petrol model, in fact a diesel will likely be more expensive.I've had my car since 2009 and done 35,000 miles...
But if you're going to get a new car anyway then don't automatically think a diesel will be cheaper than a new, equivalent petrol model. There's more to it than just mpg, you have to take into account the full cost of ownership, incl. the initial purchase price (diesels generally are more expensive than their petrol counterparts). The problem is my petrol at the moment is costing me over £200 a month in petrol.... What sort of driving are you actually doing?
On the figures you've given, I'd work that out at just over 30mpg (£2400 annual fuel bill vs 11,500 milles). Now, if you're the sort of person who drives into congested city centres every rush hour, that's not completely horrific.
With that sort of driving, a diesel isn't going to save money in the long run - particularly if the car never really warms up.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
