Negotiating New 0% BT with Cap One Balance Card?

I am coming to the end of my 0% BT period on a Cap One Balance card, and I notice they have launched a new card with ~6 months interest free. I would like to take advantage of the new offer but am wondering if it's possible without closing down my current Balance card then reapplying.

Obviously it would be simpler to just negotiate the same deal for the same BT fee without closing down my account, we both benefit that way. Just To be clear I am NOT talking about extending my current interest free period, rather paying another 3% fee and getting a new 6 months interest free which is completely equivalent to shutting the account and getting the new card.

Has anybody tried this with Cap One or other lenders?
