Which Tablet would you buy please?

I have narrowed my search for tablets for my sons for christmas down to two. Based on price as I cant afford the top end ones.

So either
Samsung Galaxy 16GB 7"

or

Google Nexus 7 16GB 7"

Which one would you go for? They will be using mainly for Youtube / videos, music, gaming etc..

Google Nexus would be my choice although if you're not in a rush it looks like the tablet wars are hotting up in the next couple months.

For 10" screens the Samsung is a good choice and currently no Nexus 10" exists.

For anyone wanting a 10" with built in 3G then look at Amazon who're selling the Samsung tab2 10.1" 3G for £299 and £50 cashback so £249 for a top end 10" tablet.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3G 16GB with 7" screen, im using it as my phone and find it great

Spent a few weeks looking and went with the Samsung 7" and so far so good. Was going to buy the Nexus, but also wanted a camera to take the odd holiday snap.

I expect there will be some good deals coming up for xmas over the next few weeks. I'm looking for my son as well, but am going to hold on for a bit.

Camera? didn't your mobile have one?

mirosd is a down side, but you can get an app call nexus media importer and get a micro usb OTG cable and problem solved

Yeah the offer finished last night (or about 1am)

It was sold by Amazon but now shows as sold by another company- I guess Amazon had lots and wanted to clear stock. This sort of thing seems to happen every now and then and you have to act quick.

I ordered one for £299 and it should arrive tomorrow, plus after 30 days I can claim £50 cashback so not bad deal for £249 if cashback goes ok. :T
