bank cashier asked me, do I work? could they be offering home insurance promos ?

Went to the bank the other day, and she looked at my screen for a while, and asked 'do i work'

and i feel they were going to offer home insurance, as she mentioned it.

Is being offered a home insurance policy linked to you working?

why did she ask if im working? -confused..

I doubt if it was to do with insurance. If you are working, you are more likely to have more disposable income than someone who isn't (just waiting for the rants about unemployed people drinking, smoking and gambling). They may well be fishing to see if they could sell you a whole range of products, not just insurance, but credit cards, loans, savings schemes etc etc

The bank is one of the worst places to but insurance or any other financial products.

I had been off work sick for a while then paid a cheque in for a few thousand.

They were quick to offer services. I just said sorry its already been spent.
