how much tax on goods from usa and when?

Hi

If I bought a jumper from the USA, would I definately have to pay 'tax'(?) on it? would this have to be paid when it was delivered to me or would 'someone' invoice me later? how much is it? 20%?


I can't believe this hasn't been asked before but i did a search and nothing was found.

Is it just the items ive had come up but US sellers quote silly postage prices.

£120 before it even hits customs for an item thats £99 in the shops.

You should try https://www.oldnavy.com they inculde all the taxes in the price you pay so you don't have to pay any more. Delivery is expensive but not too bad. Good way to get clothes from USA. There also is a company who will deliver clothes from USA to you if you are buying from lots of different USA sellers.
