Late Payment

I switched from Eon and they sent me a final bill. I checked it thoroughly and paid it this morning. This evening I received a call about the payment being overdue and asking me to pay.

I managed to clear everything up over the phone but this was 16 days after receiving the bill. I was told it should say 14 days on the letter but I've checked it a thousand times and there's no mention of a due date / period. Had I known it needed to be paid by a certain date I would have done so.

Will this 'late payment' show up on my credit file?

    Hi nathand,

If you don't have a payment arrangement in place then the bill needs to be paid as soon as this is received.

I've had a quick look at a final bill and it says please pay immediately using the payment slip provided.

We normally start some sort of follow up after a 14 day period, so it looks like this is what has happened.

I can see you have paid the bill anyway now, before the call so all should be fine.

    Helena :)
