  • Sorry to say this but its sounds like you have been ripped off by the seller.

Have you tried pulling their contact details & phone them, bit of a longshot mind.
  • Tell them you have been onto Royal Mail and you have been advised to submit a claim backed up by a Police report for theft.

Ask them what their local Police station is so that you can make arrangements for a local officer to call them.....

If they are scamming you, it may help.

In truth, I would still file a claim with RM and see what happens.

So you're advising them to lie. What happens when their bluff is called ?

Their bluff may be called, but if the seller did receive an empty envelope, they won't have an issue helping.

As I said, in truth I would file a claim anyway.

They wouldn't be able to say that though as RM state cash is acceptable if sent special delivery.

Sorry Soo, I missed your earlier post, I stand corrected!

It seems very likely that the seller is lying.

If someone wanted to steal the cash, surely the whole envelope would go missing?

I seem to remember Custardy saying that SD packets are treated differently to the normal post and looked after very carefully between sender and recipient.

There's no need to bluff, I would be tempted to contact the police and see if there is anything they can do. It's clearly either been stolen by the seller or the post office (more likely the former).
I don't know if they'll be interested (especially when it would be so hard to prove), but it's worth a phone call to them to find out, surely?
