How long to hear from ESA Medical?

Hi there - I had a work capability assessment on 22nd July and I still haven't heard. They are still paying me. Is there a delay does anyone know please? I have mental health issues so this limbo is not good for me . . .

ATOS have to send a report to DWP decison maker then he has to review it,my advice is you will hear when you hear,so try if possible to relax until you do(not easy i appreciate)

I strongly advise you call DWP (number at top of DWP ESA letters) and ask for a copy of the ATOS medical report ESA85... this will be highly informative and probably will effectively be rubber stamped by the DWP as their decision. It's possibly you've had 2 months of anxiety that could have been evaded... or otherwise you'd have plenty time to prepare for a possible negative decision and appealing. I would always recommend getting hold of this report or its equivalent where face to face medical not conducted (ESA85A) as soon as you can after it is generated.

Return here if you need advice inrelation to content of the report.. it should state the actual descriptors found to apply and therefore the group (if any) of ESA that ATOS recommend. It also will have a prognosis that will likely determine timing of reassessment if applicable. As for the timing of actual decision... would hate to guess... but people have waited several months.

Last time I was at the job centre my adviser rang through. The decision maker had the report then, and that was over a month ago!
