Barclays Personalized Cards

I have seen the new adverts by Barclays where you can have a picture put on the front of your debit card

Not exactly new though is it as National & Provincial Building Society used to offer the same facility - for free - until it was taken over by the Abbey in 1996!!
For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.

  • The National and Provincial allowed you to choose penguins, galaxy and a few other designs for the front of the card. You had your signature and photo engraved on the reverse of the card. You could not design the front of the card like Barclays!

This is true, but its the same soft of concept with the picture, seems to be something thats comes and goes

You make it sound like Barclays charge for the service, they don't.

I found a picture of a hamster with a set of dumbbells in the Barclays photo collection/archive, I thought anything is better than the standard card provided by Barclays, plus I needed a new card anyway. After receiving it, I discovered I actually quite like it, plus makes a great contactless blocker for my wallet.

    Actually that is true

Had an account with N + P Abbey took over and it went down hill from there

I got one when they first came out, in about December/January. It caused some confusion at first but I think the novelty has worn off a bit now!
