Do I still have to pay for changing early.

I was one of the people who registered with Witch to negotiate a good deal, however as we know it failed.
When I registered it was about the same time as my year with Atlantic was up. So I did not sign up for another year, I just let it roll until the result with witch was known. I never knew the result until about July so I thought I just as well let it go now until next February when I would have the month payback. About a month ago Atlantic wrote to tell me the price was going up in October. My question is can I change supplier without incurring the charges for changing early, as I never signed up.

Thanks.

If you've not contractually agreed to an early exit fee, they can't charge you one.

Because the notice of a price rise occured within your contract period, you can Switch to another supplier without penalty
However I don't know the details of your present tariiff and and it's 'Payback' - Do the numbers to decide if it's worth Switching now or waiting till you get the pay-back

If your contract expired in terms of the agreed length, its technically Deemed and these can't have early termination charges.

In terms of a unilateral chance that disadvantages you in terms of price, you are given 30 (this is before the change date) days to arrange a switch. By arrange, the new supplier needs to register their interest even if the switch date is later the expiring of the 30 days. You tell your current supplier that you intend to switch within the 30 day period and the new supplier has to act within 15 days to back up your intention.

By those policies are in the Standard Licence Conditions (SLC) so if they won't honour them, just repost so you can get the links and licence numbers to use in a complaint.
