Haggling with gas/electric supplier

Hi all,
Has anyone had any luck with getting their existing energy supplier to meet a quote from another supplier? i.e. getting your existing supplier to reduce their price rather than loosing you as a customer? We've always been happy with the service from our existing supplier (Atlantic) but getting much cheaper quotes on price comparison sites. Wondering if we say we want to leave they'll give us any discount?
Thanks

No chance on a residential property.

The best you'll get is the best of whatever tariffs they have on offer.

You might, at a push, get a small goodwill gesture (£20-£50) but don't bank on it.

Tariffs are in billing systems to allow them to be selected. If they could be changed for individuals, it would become impossible to manage them.

Quoting is for the business sector who buy in quantity so can haggle over cost per kwh.

So, you are haggling for a credit as opposed to a reduction.
