Nuisance Phone Calls

I know this is not really finance related but I am at the end of my tether.

I keep getting phone calls from someone called Consumer Choice wanting me to do a survey. I have refused to do the survey and asked them not to ring me back but they continue to do so. I think they are abroad somewhere (the number is 00120 34754049.

Just had another call and asked them to stop ringing me but was told "no we will ring you every 5 minutes, every day".

Does anyone know how I can stop these calls? I am registered with the TPS but this doesn't seem to have made any difference.

  • Who is your telephone provider?

BT offer a number blocking service, if you complain about nuisance calls then they give you a period of the service for free (cant remember if it is 1 month or 3 months)

I am with Sky but I will ask them about this. Thanks

I get idiots like this calling me too about a survey on my energy. Same company, each time i tell them I've already answered the questions and why do they insist I keep on answering. Same answer, please just once more now and no call again.

Irritates the !!!! out of me.

Is there not a number to report nuisance calls? (e.g. 1477 after hanging up on them). Repeated nuisance calls constitute harassment and the company can be prosecuted for this. (Although may be difficult if they really are overseas, but just because the calls originate overseas doesn't mean they are not a UK company).

  • I keep them on the phone for as long as possible then when I get bored I ask them how they like their time being wasted.

    Then I hang up.

I once had someone call back and tell me that they had been fired because they had wasted 35 minutes on me for no results.

I said that must be a good place to work for if they let you make phone calls after being fired.

Then I said if you don't want fired again take my number of your list because I will do it every time.

Never been called by that firm since.
  • I've had this every day for the last month, they always ask for Mr B and when I say that he's not here, they ask if I am a relative.
I've told them that I'm his.........
    slave,
    sister,
    brother,
    dad,
    cleaner
    childminder,
    butler...etc etc.

Finally, last week, I lost the plot when they called in the middle of "Emmerdale". I just shouted out "No Engreeessshh, No speak Engreeesshhh" several times and so far, it's all gone quiet!
"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"
  • I just ask them if they want to buy my fishing gear and then I go into detail what every bit does.
If they try to speak I just ask them to stop interrupting me.
    They soon move on.
I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.
