Am I entitled to Tax Credits?

Hi All,

Myself & my partner live together, he earns 20k per year and I usually earn 17k per year but have been on maternity leave for the past month. I return to work in March 2013.
We have a 3 week old daughter.
Would we be entitled to tax credits at all while I am on mat leave or even when I return to work?

Thanks in advance!

Jess

They look at your income for the whole year, which I think will be too high for you to get anything.
  • The first £100 per week of maternity pay is disregarded for tax credits so you probably will ve entitled to a small amount now.

I think you'll find you're not entitled to anything either this year or next as they'll judge it based on the previous years income which looking at the figures you've quoted you'll be above the threshold.
