freezer freezing up

Tried new seals, but after a thorough defrost (2 weeks) and switching back on the pipes are already frosting up (again).
Any ideas would be appreciated - might be in for anew freezer
the model is an old under counter in Bosch GUL12 (replacement would be GUD15A50GB)

It could be the thermostat that needs replacing.
I have been having the same problem myself with a Hotpoint fridge. The back freezing panel in the fridge keeps freezing up and it never switches off when the correct temperature has been reached. Also the thermostat dial on a couple of occasions has found it's way all the way up to 6 which is very cold/freezing. It did that about a week ago and has never been working correctly since. That must be a sign of thermostat failure on my fridge.
It has smashed two bottles in the fridge so far.
I received a replacement thermostat about half an hour ago and I am just about to replace the old one. You might be able to do the same thing providing you are okay with some DIY. It would save you the cost of replacing the fridge
You do need to be careful because the freezing element needs to be released at the rear of the fridge to fit the temperature sensor. There are coolant pipes which must not be bent! If they break, it will mean a new fridge.
Search google for your fridge name and thermostat replacement. There might be some guides on what to watch out for when replacing it.
Oh , by the way, my thermostat cost me £11.25+£3.99 delivery. Much cheaper than a new fridge

[EDIT] Just realised that it is a freezer rather than a fridge, but it should be similar, maybe even cheaper to fix because there is no manual thermostat. There has to be some sort of thermostat that cuts off the freezer element when it reaches a certain temperature.
Therefore it probably could be fixed by yourself. I've done my fridge and it seems to be working. The only problem is that the thermostat spindle for the control knob is very slightly smaller and the knob does not fit snuggly. I will contact espares and see what they say because it was meant to be a genuine Hotpoint spare. However it looks like these parts are very generic and cover a large range of models and even different makes in the same parent company. Not 100% happy with it ATM but at least it is working,0
