My mate has been putting 40k down on credit card applications since he was about 20 years old and although he's bullsh*ted its hardly the crime of the century and he's got away with for 15 years.

Not saying I agree with it but the lender finding out is about 000.1%.

Certainly people can 'get away' with it, although I think if they applied for a mortgage they could come unstuck - and end up with National Hunter flgs and problems getting future credit.

Tixy fully agree with you on this on a mortgage where the info ends up on a desk in front of a human eye underwriter

from my knowledge of Hunter it checks for incosistencies on electoral ie how long , adresses , number of card opens , multi applications , number of banks etc etc ,dates of birth

no way hunter can pick up salaries i mean my take home pay changes every month but i do agree with you that lieing anyhow is just wrong and sooner rather than later some due diligence will be done on an application might be a card issuer checking employer status or something

i think we will agree to agree hehe :o
I am NOT a mortgage advisor nor a professional in any debt related matters my replies to posts reflect my personal view only and experience in life time situations that may or may not be of any use to you if you need advice speak to a professional
  • Well, I wont be putting false income on any applications - I'd be a nervous wreck waiting for the feds to crash my door.

Taucher - what is the APR on your current card? and the balance?

My current balance is £649.90 (credit limit is £1300; they increased it but I didn't request an increase it happened automatically). My 6 months 0% interest rate has ended so now APR is high - 24%. I want to change to Mastercard (cos of the Mastercard free events you can go to) on a 0% balance transfer for 6 months deal.

Blimey, as much as it might be naughty to misrepresent your salary, I don't think police from a different country will be overly interested in it!!!!

    Lol

You may be best off sticking with what you've got, although Aqua may accept you for cashback.
