    Chargeback ultimately only works if the bank can get the money back from the merchants account. As we are talking about the merchant having gone bust they probably wont be able to hence why you turn to section 75 instead.

    Any money claimed back comes from the retailers merchant bank. Which is why many merchant banks ring fence a certain amount of money.

    A certain amount of money yes, but if say BA went bust the amount reclaimable will massively outweight the 3 months revenue or such

    Makes no diffrence to your claim. Seen plenty of large co's go under and always seen the customer get their money back via chargebacks.
    Remember their bank is right behind the taxman in the list of creditors.

    A customer is always warned that the retailer has the right to reject a chargeback and claim the money back, but if the company s no longer trading then they cant.

    HMRC is no longer a priority creditor in most cases. (Since 2003, I think.)

    Have you looked at the connection times?
    They are awful e.g. an overnights stay in Cairo (which is about £80 at the Novatel).
    Thanks for your help but we have already looked at that route.
