Sony payment but no goods

Hi please can somebody offer advice (hope this is in the right place).
I tried to put some money on my sons PS2 last week using my credit card. I tried twice but each time the screen message said card payment failed. I have just noticed 2 payments have gone on the card and yet nothing has been credited to his account.
Should I just cancel this via the bank or contact Sony/Play-station to refund? He has since bought a PS card so I don't want to be in the postion where Sony/Play-station try to solve it by crediting his account.
What would you do?

I would 1st check that they were not blocked by the CC security system.
Given that the payments have not got to the account with sony. Get the card provider to chargeback for non reciept, if they say they were paid.
But I would 1st get son to contact sony re the payments. As it has been know when c/b are actioned against sony for them to block the online account. And not release it till the money has been payed back, even though it is their fault.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
