Anti Virus for iPad 2?

Is there an anti virus for the iPad please? I've looked but can't see one. I'm getting so many dodgy emails, luckily delete them as soon as I see them, but wondered if there was an app I could download to help out. Thanks.

  • As yet there is no anti virus for Ipad and no need for one, as all apps need to be signed by Apple before they will run.

Usually dodgy emails are designed to run on Windows and won't work on Apple kit.

yep antivirus doesn't exist on iOS devices, it doesn't need it.

What email service provider do you use? and are the emails coming into your Inbox? if they are it sounds like it doesn't have very good spam filtering, a solution would be to switch to an email provider which can filter the spam into the Spam folder therefore it no longer wastes your time.
Gmail and Outlook (formally Hotmail) are both excellent at preventing spam arriving in your inbox.

They are coming into my AOL inbox as that is my main account. All spam on PC is directed into spam box without any problems.

AOL IMO hasn't got a great spam filter, and on your PC spam will most likely be filtered out via the built in spam filters of your email client or antivirus.

You can check if the spam filtering is turned on in AOL, if you log in on a computer, click the dropdown 'Options' in the top right, then 'Settings' on the left is 'Spam Settings' in there you can try a different level of spam filtering, if it's off try Medium first, if it's already on Medium try High.
Hopefully that will prevent the spam to the inbox.

Many thanks for your help Jayme1. It was set to Medium so I have now set it to High. Hopefully that will help :).
