B and Q return

can anyone advise i recently bought some wall tiles from B&Q and i bought more than i needed. i have now lost the receipt and can not find it anywhere. i have 45 days to return the unused goods (now only 5 days left) but not without receipt according to B&Q is this correct. i paid on my debit card but it only shows total amount as i bought other items as you do. i have 3 x Complete in boxes unused and need to return.

  • Can you call ahead and see what they say?

If they require the receipt for the refund you may be out of luck. You could always take your debit card statement as proof of purchase and see if this will suffice.

  • I usually find B&Q very helpful with such matters by offering at least a credit note, and lets face it it's a shop we go to time and time again:)

No automatic rights without the receipt, unless faulty then the statement would suffice.
It's goodwill you rely on so see if you can find anyone who may remember you making the purchase and take the to CS with you when you ask for the refund.

It depends on what store you go to, I had to return some paint once and had lost the receipt. My landlord said we could only paint a certain colour which we bought but convinced him to let us pick our own colour so we wanted an exchange for the same brand and sized tin at the same price but in a different colour.

My local store wouldn't do anything without the receipt but the store in the next town over was happy to let us exchange without it.
