Things to do before giving birth...

I had two of the above and didn't have my nail polish removed - glad of it too as it took ages to do when 8.75 months pregnant!
Stupid welsh NHS. :mad:Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

I think she means nails painted, hair done, de fluffed etc.
No one is saying eveyone must do this but some women like to feel pampered before hand0 -
And I want to know why they need to remove nail polish.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

You could remind her to shave her legs - there is a period where you feel embarrassed at the fact that anyone who wanders into the room thinks they have inadvertantly entered the local zoo....
of course then you don't care who comes in or what they think - but that transition would have been easier for me had I looked at my legs for the last few weeks of pregnancy and remembered to shave them.
Apart from that don't fuss - I didn't want to be fussed over. I just wanted to sit about really.
Keep her company and talk about anything but babies - that would be my advice.0 -

I think its because the colour of the nail bed is a clear and quick indication if your oxygen saturation levels are getting too low.0 -

So they can use a finger probe to measure the oxygen in the blood. Nail polish stops them working properly.0 -

Its not just the Welsh NHS, i had my nail varnish removed before my section and i'm from Lancashire, i knew they would have to take if off and would have been worried if they didn't remove it! Didn't have it taken off my toes though as i had those attractive thick socks on!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
