Camping in the UK

I have recently acquired a nice tent with allsorts of bits and bobs and the missus and I fancy doing a spot of camping this summer. I last went camping years ago and she has never been and is frankly quite reluctant (likes her hotels too much !!!!) so I am after any reccomendations for sites with good facilities approx 150miles (2-3hrs driving) max from Manchester. We work shifts so we will only be doing a night here and there at weekends and weekdays, maybe a 3day stay but nothing more. Any ideas ????

    Hello,

The OH has been rooting around the net on this subject, as he is taking his kids camping this year - we found Haven Holidays to be very reasonable - al the sites they have that do camping have indoor pool, bar, restaurant, attractions nearby, showers, laundry etc.

Can't remember the link sorry, just go to to Google and type in haven holidays uk.

On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

There's a campsite run by the National Trust in Langdale in the Lake District. It's absolutely lovely - they have a separate area for families away from the adults only bit. There's also a shop on site and a pub within walking distance. Oh, and the scenery is amazing. Information about it is here

Hello only 2nd message on here, but have been lurking for quite a few months now!! lol

A good place to try is Conwy in North Wales.

There is a really good campsite, called Conwy Touring Park, they have a website if you wanted to look at it.

It would take you approx 1 3/4 hours to get there, as that is what it takes me from Lancashire.
