my husbands thinking of buying a phone through gumtree and the seller said they would post.
now is this safe? we would pay through paypal and it would be posted special delivery.
its alot of money so i just want to get your views on this.

NO, do not pay by bank transfer, you will not be covered.
Pay by paypal and if something goes wrong you will be able to get your money back.0 -

thanks both for your help. it turned out he "didnt have paypal" and apparently "didnt have time to open an account" so only wanted bank transfer, so we kept well away!**Waiting for a BIG win!**

There are so many scammers out there you have to be careful. Always use either Paypal (not gift payment) or pay cash on collection. If the seller really wanted the sale, they would find time to open a Paypal account.0
