Did he not claim on his motorbike insurance at the time of the theft.
Only some cards offer this protection as a perj,
If not, I dont think a cc claim would entertain you anyway.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I think any timescales are counted in days.... Not years.
But as above. You have insurance on the bike to claim from. I would guess that even if in time and you tried a claim it would be bounced back on the basis that it would have its own insurance to cover theft.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
For theft of an item after purchase you are looking at extra features offered by the card issuer and not a statutory cover. As such any time limit would need to be defined in the T&Cs of the policy/ card.
If those time limits were unreasonable then a complaint may result in the limit being waived but it is highly unlikely that 3 years would be considered reasonable0 -
There is no automatic cover for theft or damage on items bought with a credit card.
A few cards offer some for of insurance such as 90 days cover for damage, loss or theft, but even then, I expect that motor vehicles would be excluded. "Free" cover usually has lots of exclusions.
But even if it was covered, 3 years is probably too late to claim, because one of the terms is probably that you'll notify the insurer of an incident promptly. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
