Problem with Samsung Wave 2

Have had a samsung Wave 2 for just coming up to a Year and the last couple of days it has developed a problem .
On the screen it keeps flickering between the words " disconnected and initializing" , which I believe is the same words that show when I've have connected it to my laptop.It doesnt affect using the phone , internet , calling out etc , but just worried that its stuck in this mode.
Would resetting the phone make any difference or is it just stuck in this mode ?

Still not fixed the issue , it now shows charging even when it isnt on charge.Wonder whether it is a problem inside the connection making it stick on connection to PC mode ?
Anybody know how long , if any , a guarantee from Carphone Warehouse is ?The truth shall set you free.....................0
