Link detached?

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-35905633.html

We've got some link detached near us - the garages touch the next house ...

I'm not sure what link detached means in the context of the house in the link...

Comments

  • I thought it meant linked by a garage or other building, but doesn't appear to be the case in this instance.

If you look in the actual brochure it says that it's semi-detached.
  • I've got a link-detached house and it is joined to the house next door just by the garage. If the garage wasn't there it would be completely detached.

If there is a gap around the entire property, it's detached. Link detached means it isn't - at best it's a semi. It's a stupid phrase that means nothing - it's a semi.

So it does, I didn't look that far. Looks like the 'link detached' description is an error.

There's a vennel through the building, between the target property and the adjacent one, so it's only linked by the pitched (attic) area, and not at ground level.

If you go to street view, the vennel is more obvious, with the sun shining into it from the back of the building. Looks like the front door to the adjacent property is in the vennel.

It may have a flying freehold over the coach entrance, if the bit above belongs to the right hand house.

It looks like a lovely place and could be a fabulous house with a bit of money spent on it!
