Natwest Debit Card Problem
EPL
Returned home today to find a letter from Natwest.
About a month ago I lost my Debit Card for my current account with them. Obviously I contacted them and requested a new one. Never received anything for weeks and had several phone calls with them where they have simply stated it had been sent and must of been lost so a new one would be ordered.
Got a letter today saying they won't be issuing me a new one because of the way that I run my account.
I have a £2500 overdraft at the minute but my wages go in as normal each month.
Can they do this ?
What advice would you give for when I contact them tomorrow ?

The fact they've said this seems to indicate that the bank is concerned at the way you use the account.
I'd ask them tomorrow what it is about your account conduct that the bank feels is unsatisfactory. Do you go over your overdraft limit at all? Do you make payments on your debit card when there are insufficient funds to cover them? (banks classify this as card misuse)
Do you have direct debits etc. go unpaid? Have you got any payment arrangements payday lenders which you've tried to cancel through the bank?
In short, are you under any "credit stress" at the moment? Of course, it could just be a mistake...0 -

No where near enough info to make any sort of judgment.
Is your address correct on their system?
How many have they sent out since you reported this card lost? I would have expected that they double checked your address after not recieving the 1st one.
How were they sent out? and where too?
Any usage on any of these lost cards?
Biggest issue or their refusal to send another card would be.
How many cards have you lost in the past?Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Possibly your wages aren't enough to sustain having a 2.5k overdraft.I work for Natwest.0
