Central heating - - Gas Boiler Problem

Hi,

I have a combi boiler. Today when we turned the boiler on and heating on nothing happened.

When we looked at the boiler it looked like there was no power in it. The pressure bar and green light did not come on. Is there anything we can try to get it on?

The estate agent is saying they will only fix it if we pay a £100 fee for a call out.

Thanks!

E

Is their an isolation switch or a fused spur feeding the boiler?
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • are you a tenant?
Check the fuse in the isolation switch like penrhyn suggested.

Unless your tenancy agreement says otherwise, your landlord or management agent is responsible for maintaining everything in safe and working order.

Check that they are ARLA registered, and report them for trying to extort money from the tenant.

I have heard of a landlord who refuses to deal with any problems, and have it in the contract that the tenant is responsible for fixing everything. Some tenants will sign anything, sigh.

Unfortunately, trying to fix it yourself gives them an excuse to blame you for any real fault later.
