  • If indeed the charge hasn't hit the account then you are safe.

    The only risk is sometimes charges on accounts aren't updated in real time (unlike authorisations) - so there is a chance that in the next day or so you'll see the charge backdated a day or so.

    I would never bank on a retailer saying that they won't take payment.
    Also that auth could sit there for 14 days.

    You took the best option in making a small payment.
