How to establish value of car?

Hi,

My car is soon due for insurance renewal. My current provider has always offered the best deal but I'll be shopping around to see if I can beat it.

So that I can apply for quotes, how do I find out what the current value is of my car?

Thanks.

Many insurance co's dont even ask you for a value - they just cover it for what they term "market" value

But surely the value you enter will have an effect on the quote?
